Cargo Bag

Although I haven't used the bag yet, I can see that it's very well made, seems sturdy, and I love the blue color. When I go on tours I like to take my bike gear in a carry-on bag separate from my check-in bag in case the luggage goes missing. In the past I've used just a plain weekend bag with everything jumbled up inside. I like the fact that this bag has pockets where clothes, shoes, water bottles, etc., can be kept in their own distinct space. It appears quite roomy inside.

Grab & Go family bag + Cargo bike bag!

My family has two of these bags and we have really put them through their paces. We’ve taken them on bikepacking trips, used them grocery shopping, and on short commutes. We primarily use it for family rides on our cargo bike and the biggest benefit is to be able to load the bag up, carry it on my back (while wrangling two little girls,) and easily attached the bag to the cargo rack. A HUGE benefit to the attachment strap design is that it allows the bag to attach to unusual/big racks or the “monkey bars” on our cargo bike where I’d have no way to mount a standard “plastic clip” mounted pannier.

solid commuting bag

This is the third bag that I've bought from Po Campo. I do like their style. I got the Mardy Backpack Pannier in black. Pros: Capacity- in the main interior space, it fits my notebooks, lunch bag, wallet, and phone with plenty of room to spare. The bottom compartment fits my bike accessories pouch (lights, chargers), reflective vest, and occasionally shoes. The outer pockets have my keys, ID, water bottle, and bike lock. In short, it holds everything I need for my work commute. Attachment to bike rack- it took a little adjusting to figure out the attachment straps and magnet buckles (they slide to left), but once attached, it stays firmly on the bike. I also like that the bag sits well above the spoke hub and not down in the wheel area- my previous bag would sometimes get caught in the spokes if I wasn't careful. Sturdy- I like that the bag stands upright when I put it down on the ground. I want more bags like this. Versatile- I was a little concerned about how it felt on my back as a backpack, but it does work well in this mode. I also carry it as a shoulder bag. Cons: The raincover works wonderfully, but the snap on the bag broke off after my 2nd usage. Also, when the raincover is in its pouch, I can feel it against my back when I'm carrying the bag as a backpack. I don't travel very far with the backpack, but I do notice it. Even when empty, the bag is on the heavy side. I don't use the snaps at the top of the bag (I like to have the bag at full capacity), so they look a little silly sticking out. I'm glad to have this bag now that I'm commuting to work again.

overall fantastic, with a few quibbles

I had an older version of the Mardy pannier bag in grey and in the post-pandemic return to the office treated myself to a new one in blue. I am a semi-regular bike commuter riding ~7 miles one way, primarily on a dedicated, paved multiuse trail. I have a 2013 Trek Allant (city bike with fenders) and a back rack. Things I love: -integrated rain cover: I've never chanced a downpour, but under drizzly/rainy conditions I haven't feared for my laptop with the cover in use. -shoe/lunch compartment: this is one of the main reasons I picked the Mardy, and it is immensely useful. -exterior pockets: there's enough room for my phone, keys, and mask, plus hydroflask and bike light when needed. -interior size: it fits my 15" laptop, and there are little pockets for odds and ends (like jewelry and snacks) -the magnet straps: I shove a lot in there, and they've held up well through the tree-root bumps in my commute. -color: I love the cheerful blue. Things that aren't quite ideal: -the extendable stabilizer hook never stays hooked during my commute. This was also a problem with my older Mardy. Maybe the diameter of the poles in my rack are just abnormally large and tree-root bumps extra bumpy? -no laptop pocket: I don't need something padded, but something in the interior to keep my laptop from flopping around would be great
