Late Summer Adventures

Po Campo Late Summer Adventures

Summer is quickly winding down, but there’s still time to take a few great adventures. Here are a few things we want to pack in before the air gets crisp and the leaves start falling – and the perfect Po Campo bag for each!

Go to the Beach

Beaches are open year round, but there’s nothing like packing up your bag, hopping on your bike and spending a day sitting in the late-summer sun with a big hat and a good book. The Logan Trunk Bag is the perfect beach bag. It’s big enough to hold a snack, your book, headphones and sunscreen, and the bottom straps securely hold your towel. In Chicago, Foster beach is our favorite because it’s a little less crowded than some of the other beaches meaning you almost always can find a great spot to soak up the sun!

Have a Picnic

Pack up your lunch, find a park and enjoy an afternoon with nature. The Bike Share Bag is big enough to fit a feast and you can use the adjustable bungees to hold your blanket. Even if you just have an hour lunch break, there’s time for a quick picnic! So, grab a friend and find a patch of grass and enjoy the last warm days with a delicious homemade meal al fresco. Food and Wine Magazine has  some excellent picnic recipes if you’re looking for menu inspiration.

Go Camping

The weather is starting to cool off and that makes late summer the perfect time to pitch a tent and spend a few nights star gazing in the woods. Before you go, download a phone app, such as Star Walk, to help you identify what you’re seeing while sleeping under the stars. The Midway Weekender is great for camping, you can put your hiking boots in the bottom compartment and still have plenty of room for your clothes, soap and toothbrush! Another benefit to camping after Labor Day is many parks have lower, off-season rates meaning you get to enjoy all the natural beauty at a fraction of the peak-season cost!
