Meet Our Riders

We’re beyond proud to introduce three incredible women who are just as passionate about life as they are about riding. They're riders who inspire us with the way they move through the world, on and off the bike. Over the coming months, these ladies will be sharing glimpses into their rides, routines, and stories, all with their favorite Po Campo bags along for the journey.

We're so excited to collaborate and celebrate community, connection, and the many ways a bike can carry you through life.

Katy Vernon

Katy is a singer/songwriter originally from the UK now living in Minnesota. Katy didn’t learn to drive until she was 30. When her kids were babies, she rode them everywhere in a bike trailer.

As a recent empty nester, Katy is restarting her biking journey. “I’m pursuing activities to stay fit since I now have the time to focus on myself instead of only my kids.”

Does that name sound familiar to you? Katy first reached out to us when she saw we have bike bags named Katy and Vernon. We all immediately knew this connection was meant to be, and we’re thrilled to be a part of Katy’s journey.

Beth McBride

Beth’s journey into cycling began with road rides that felt more like a chore than a passion. But that changed when she discovered the inclusive and welcoming community of gravel cycling. A proud alumna and mentor with the All Bodies on Bikes Gravel Team, she brings the same spirit of inclusion and encouragement to every ride she’s a part of.

She knows firsthand that cycling is for everyone, and she's committed to making sure others feel that too. When she's not out on the gravel roads of Wisconsin, you'll find her inspiring the next wave of riders to clip in, show up and enjoy the journey.

Beth is also working to launch biking opportunities for indigenous youth who belong to her tribe,  The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, in Northern Wisconsin.

Char Nolan

Char is a plant-based chef who teaches nutrition and cooking classes in underserved communities around Philadelphia. At the age of 75, she rides her bike almost everyday.

Armed with a degree in community health education from Temple University, Char is currently completing a masters degree at Peirce College.

“For me, a diet based on plants, without refined sugars, makes me feel great. Bicycle riding provides me with peace of mind. Combine them together and I am energized and creative.”

Jessica Tillyer

Jessica Tillyer is dedicated to imagining and nurturing audacious ideas that challenge the status quo.

She is the founder of The Living World, a boutique consultancy that works alongside visionary leaders to create a better future for people, communities and the earth. She’s also a design leader at The Institute for Moral Imagination.

She is the co-founder of Bike Bus World, Montclair Bike Bus and creator of Bike Deli. As an advocate for equity and the environment, she has served on the Board of the Women’s History Museum and as a Vision Zero Task Force member.

Mary McGowan

In 2015, Mary sold her car and began using her bicycle to get everywhere. She’s a passionate cycling enthusiast and safe streets advocate who uses the bicycle to get from A to B, travel the world and volunteer for social impact organizations like Bike Walk Greenville.

On YouTube and Instagram, she shares the challenges and adventures of car-free living in a small southern U.S. city.
