What an adventure it's been for our company, and for founder Maria Boustead, over the past 15 years! As the nostalgia kicks in, we thought it would be the perfect time to take a walk with you down memory lane. And who better to reminisce with than you, our Po Campo community!
Here are some of her favorite moments.
1. OUR FIRST WAREHOUSE + OFFICE
This is when I said "It feels like we're a real company now." Though it was an unfinished basement, we made it work! We built our own shelves and unloaded the first container with volunteer support.
2. A SOLO TRIP TO CHINA
I went to China to figure out how to find quality manufacturing with good materials at the right price. I negotiated, and even pounded a table! I developed our products and met all the suppliers. One factory even had "Welcome Po Campo" on the sign in reception.
3. SEEING PO CAMPO EVERYWHERE
Last summer while biking in Northern Michigan I saw Po Campo bags pretty much every time we went out. It was like "woah, we're everywhere..."
4. CELEBRATING YEAR 5
For Year 5 we hosted a party with a band and food. Thought I didn't know everyone who showed up, I absolutely loved everyone I met. It was the first time I could see how Po Campo was a brand that attracted a certain kind of person - and I really liked those people!
5. 10 YEAR BIKE HANGOUTS - NATIONWIDE
For Year 10 we hosted hangouts in places all over - NYC, a bike ride in Seattle, pop-ups in stores, etc. Our ambassadors spread the love and coordinated these events. It felt so special.
6. OUR ALL-WOMEN TEAM TODAY
I'm really proud of the team we have now. Everyone is talented, devoted and plays a key role. We are a distributed team, which gives everyone freedom to live the life they want right now, whether that's with travel, caregiving or giving back to their own communities.
