Fall Bike Activities

We’re now in Fall and although the weather is cooling down, as the leaves start to change it’s one of the most beautiful times of the year for outdoor activities. It’s probably no surprise that our favorite Fall pastime is a good old bike ride, so we thought we’d share some of our most-loved ways to gather the family or friends together and get outdoors for a ride!

Fall Fun By Bike

Gear and clothing

First things first, let’s talk about how you can adapt your bike gear and clothing to stay warm and comfortable while you ride. This time of year can come with some unpredictability when it comes to the weather, so it’s a good idea to bring a sweater or rain jacket along for your ride to avoid getting caught off guard while you’re out and about. Chelsea Trunk Bag or Domino Handlebar Bag are ideal for fitting the necessities plus a little something extra. Chelsea has enough room for a water bottle, rain jacket and a sweater. While Domino is just big enough to fit the necessities and a light sweater, all while comfortably securing onto your handlebars while you ride.

Be prepared for it all with the Chelsea + Domino bundle and save 15% when you purchase these two bags together!

Now for the good stuff… Fall Bike Activities!

Get out on your local trails

Group rides are a great way to keep the tires spinning as the weather changes and this is the best time of year to head out on your local trails, enjoy the scenery as the leaves start to change and the serenity as fewer people crowd the tracks. If you’re unsure about trails available in your area, Rails to Trails is your handy helper, so be sure to visit their site here for more information.

Not into trail rides? Riding through the streets or a nearby park is just as beautiful this time of year! So, plan your leaf peeping route, grab your bike buddy and enjoy the splashes of orange and red take over with the new season.

Trail Riding In Fall

Hot cocoa season has started!

Is there anything cozier than your local cafe in Fall? Add a nice, warm cup of cocoa to mix and it’s a dreamy outing with friends or family. It’s also the perfect excuse for a bike ride whether it’s a quick 5 minute cycle or perhaps a treat after a day out exploring the trails, the fresh Fall air will make that hot cup of coco so tasty. Our Kinga Handlebar bag is just the right size to fit keys, wallet, phone and other essentials while conveniently converting into a shoulder bag when you’re off the bike.

For a limited time you can save over 25% when you purchase two Kinga’s in one order, so you can get one for you and one for your bestie or bike buddy! Use the code KINGA2X at checkout to save!

Go apple-picking

Fall wouldn’t be the same without a trip to the orchards and it’s an enjoyable outing for both adults and kids. Instead of walking it, why not try bringing your bike this year and ride through the orchards as you pick apples with friends or family? And for the adults, treat yourself to some fresh apple cider at the end of the day! Our Orchard Grocery Pannier is ideal for a day of apple picking and it just so happens to be named aptly for a ride through an apple orchard! This pannier will give you a cute and convenient way to store your apples in one place and get them all home safely.

Visit a pumpkin patch

It’s pumpkin season which means pumpkin patches are open for business! Gather the kids and the bikes and get ready for a wholesome day of collecting the perfect pumpkin to carve. As we get close to Halloween, a trip to the pumpkin patch is a fun pre-trick-or-treating outing that the whole family can enjoy.
