Po Campo Supports World Bicycle Relief Goal of 500,000 Bikes Donated

Giving Tuesday - It is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Here at Po Campo we feel charitable all year long, but enjoy celebrating our partnership with World Bicycle Relief at this special time of the year.

Back in May of 2013, Po Campo partnered with World Bicycle Relief (WBR), a Chicago nonprofit that supplies new bikes into programs for rural African communities, giving them access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

World Bicycle Relief Mobilizes People Through The Power of Bicycles

In developing countries, millions of people walk for miles each day just to survive. On foot, individuals race against the sun to complete everyday tasks. Distance is a barrier to attending school, receiving healthcare, and delivering goods to market.

World Bicycle Relief delivers specially designed, locally assembled, rugged bicycles for people in need. WBR provides specially designed, locally assembled Buffalo Bicycles to support easier mobility. They have developed an efficient, innovative, and scalable model to empower students, health workers, and entrepreneurs in rural developing regions with life-changing mobility. Funds from supporters like Po Campo enable the delivery of bicycles to those in need.

The Po Campo’s Contribution to WBR’s 500,000 Goal

This holiday season, Po Campo is partnering with @WorldBicycleRelief to help put a historic 500,000 bicycles into the hands of students, health workers, and entrepreneurs in developing countries. Together, we can help people achieve independence and transform their futures.

Every time we sell 50 bags through our online store, we pay for a new bicycle for WBR. Since we started contributing, we have added 158 bikes. We are dedicated to helping them achieve their goals. The holiday sales are a great way to get value while shopping and help us put a bike in someone’s hands.
