Retailer Spotlight: Toad & Co Glenwood Springs

Our Retailer Spotlight of November is Toad & Co Glenwood Springs in Colorado. Get to know them and find out what makes them special in this blog post.

Each month we highlight one of our retail partners to get to know them better. If you have a suggestion for a small business that would be a good home for Po Campo, drop us a line and let us know! Support your local retailers! #ShopLocal #ShopSmall

1. Tell us a bit about your shop. How long have you been in business? Why did you decide to open a store where you did?

We just opened in June 2017.

2. What do your customers like best about shopping at your store? What makes Toad & Co Glenwood special?

We have owned and operated our sister store, TreadZ since early 2008 and we are completely invested in our community. We recognized the potential for partnering with a strong lifestyle brand like Toad & Co that has a broad appeal for men and women and nicely aligns with our values and standards. As more and more commerce happens online it becomes vital to merge the convenience of that with the tactile and personal experience of being in the store and these strategic partnerings address that. That combined with our thoughtful curating of goods to compliment that, including many produced here in Colorado and other areas of the US.

3. What does Po Campo bring to your product assortment? Why do you like having us in your shop?

Po Campo addresses the importance of bicycle commuting in style and convenience. We recently replaced the main bridge coming into town which necessitated a change in many people's commuting habits. Introducing the Po Campo brand at that time was fantastic!

4. What's something you're excited about either in the future of your business, your industry, your city, or just in the world in general?

Well, now that the bridge is back in place I think we will see a great deal of opportunity for our community. In the world at large, I am always excited to innovation and a renewed interest in producing goods domestically.

5. Share a short story about a time when something happened at Toad & Co Glenwood and you were like, "Now this is why I do this!".

A good experience for a customer, employee, vendor, etc. Since we are still so new, there are not a lot of stories to draw from. We hosted our Grand Opening party on September 15th which unfortunately aligned with torrential winds and rain. In spite of the poor weather we had a great turnout and though we were prepared with tents, etc. Things got off to a great start but shortly after the band started the rain blew in. The band could not play but everyone just moved the party inside and a great time was had by all. We have had consistent support during the largest and most inconveniencing infrastructure project our community has seen in more than 50 years and that speaks highly of our regard in the community and the quality of the relationships we have forged. I feel immensely proud and lucky to be doing business in Glenwood Springs!
