Get the Most out of your Bag
I love the look of the bag. It is very helpful that the lining is a light color. I don’t need a flashlight to find my wallet! I don’t love: The hook on one side of the shoulder strap was opened and too wide so slipped off of the bag a couple of times, until I took pliers and squeezed it into shape. One of the magnet clasps is weak. On very bumpy rides (like parts of damen), the bag has unclipped. Luckily the other magnet held so the bag didn’t completely fall off of the rack. It has happened a few times, and always the same clasp. That sucks. Really sucks. The point of a pannier is that you can attach the bag to the rack. I am still using the bag, but no longer put my computer in that bag, and I reach back to check on the bag position several times per commute. Each magnet is supposed to hold 88 pound but I can flick the one magnet off of the clip with my pinky finger. I have the back pack pannier as well. No problems with it at all. I wish there was a sunglass pocket on top, like my Patagonia bag (less stylish, no contrasting lining, doesn’t attach to bike rack) has. I will that one of the water bottle pockets was a tad taller. That’s it. I still recommend the brand. I think I got a dud and have been meaning to contact Po Campo about the magnet strap. Cheers
I take this bag everywhere. Work. Store. Dinner out. Traveling. Bike touring. But it doesn’t matter if it’s a bike trip or not - it can carry everything I want and have room for more. When zipped shut and folded over my things stay dry. (That’s important to me!) The easily adjusted and stashed shoulder strap (using what I call the umbrella pocket - it’s where I put my wet folding umbrella) could be a tiny bit wider, but is still quite comfortable. And the purse handles are purfect.... Hanging the bag on the bike rack is so wonderfully easy! It is the best/simplest/most out-of-the-way-when-off-the-bike system I’ve ever seen! Sometimes it’s tricky on my folding bike’s smaller rack - to get it far enough back to be out of the way of my long feet, and to not have a buckle be bumped open by the frame’s support tube - but it is the best. My one wish: move the key fob to the other side, raise the attachment point, lengthen (+/or elasticize) the strap and change to an easier clip. I have to unzip all the way, really dig down, then fight the key off to put it in the lock. (I just use the outer pocket most of the time.) It’s a great bag.
I really love this bag even though I was really disappointed that even my 11in laptop didn’t fit in the laptop pocket in the correct way.
Took my pannier out for the first time this morning, loaded to the brim, riding my bumpiest, potholiest commute route in the pouring rain. The bag stayed secure (not shifting much while riding around like many panniers do) and everything inside was completely dry, even in the front zipper pocket. Any road dirt/splatter wiped off easily (actually, it mostly didn't even stick). *And* it's really cute!
My wife is delighted with the bag and it’s innovative features. PoCampo was attentive and helpful in working through a website issue.
The perfect bag does exist...
