Each month we will be choosing our favorite Po Campo fan photo to display on the blog. We see all of your beautiful pictures on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook, but if there are photos you’ve taken with your Po Campo bag that you haven’t posted online, feel free to send them our way! You can email your fan photos to photos@pocampo.com or tag your photos with #pocampo for a chance to win a FREE PO CAMPO BAG.
1. Tell us a bit about your hometown. Where do you insist on taking out of town guests?
2. Where is your favorite place to take your Po Campo?
I ride my bike commuting around town and for fun along the river parkway and to and from my community garden. Whenever I don't have enough thing to pack with to justify my big panniers, my po campo goes with me.
3. A favorite tip (or two) about how you incorporate mindfulness and healthy habits into your daily life?
I'm pretty sure there have been studies about how petting dogs calms people and makes them healthier. Even if there wasn't any such study I would till go out of my way to hang out with furry friends because they make me laugh and that's good medicine too. Cats are a good substitute if there's not a dog available.
4. A suggestion for women who are interested in biking but have safety concerns?
Stick to back roads, neighborhoods and bike lanes or protected pathways when available.
5. Secrets for managing helmet hair?
I have bangs that look ridiculous when I sweat into a helmet even if the rest of my hair is pulled back, so I've been known to hold my head under a restroom hand dryer until my hair dries without the helmet indents. They also make really tiny travel hairdryers that would fit in your purse if it's really important to you. But mostly I just fluff my hair with my hand and shake it out, it usually sorts itself out somewhat. Definitely wear a helmet though! Brains are more important than hair.
6. Favorite biking memory?
Renting bikes in Tulum, Mexico for a week with my boyfriend and biking all around town looking for all the amazing street art, eating at delicious restaurants and riding to the beach from our hostel. It was all very affordable (other than the plane ticket) and so much fun! It was also really impressive to see entire families getting around on by bike.
7. If you could have dinner with anyone (living or dead) who would it be, and why?
Sorry famous people, I would just pick my best friend because she lives 1000 miles away and as interesting/impressive as famous strangers are, no one is more fun than she is.
8. If you could be amazing at playing any one instrument, which would you pick?
The accordion! I just think it's the most fun instrument. I can't help but smile when someone is playing it.
9. If you could wake up fluent in any language, which would it be?
German because I've been trying to learn it for years and I love Germany, Austria and Switzerland, especially the alps!
10. What song do you always sing when you sing karaoke?
Seal- Kiss from a Rose, because it makes everyone in the room groan and I learned the words when I was a preteen so I think they're stored in there forever. As unhelpful as that may be.
